There Are 2 Methods Of Trenchless Sewer Repair

There are 2 methods of trenchless sewer line repair and your local qualified trenchless sewer repair contractor can tell you which one is best for you based on the current condition of your existing failed sewer line.

Method1 - Trenchless Sewer Pipe Relining

This trenchless sewer line replacement method consists of relining the entire length of your existing sewer line with a brand new seamless liner that will not only leave your sewer line working perfectly, but will be stronger and last longer than the original sewer pipe itself. The new flexible liner is saturated with epoxy and blown into the existing sewer pipe from one small access point using a special machine. Once the new liner is in place, a bladder is inserted through the new sewer pipe liner and inflated with high pressure air. This forces the new liner against the interior of the existing sewer pipe sealing all cracks, voids, and damaged areas. Once the pipe cures, usually in just a couple of hours, the bladder is removed and you now have a smooth, air and water tight super strong sewer pipe rated to last for at least 50 years.

Method2 - Trenchless Sewer Pipe Bursting

This trenchless sewer line replacement method consists of replacing your entire existing sewer line with a brand new pipe made of high grade polyethylene that is flexible, seamless and extremely tough. This material is also highly resistant to future root intrusion, the leading cause of sewer line failure. It is installed by digging only 2 small access holes usually about 3’ x 3’ at each end of the old sewer line. A heavy cable is run through the entire length and attached to the front of a cone shaped tool called a bursting head. The bursting head is fastened to a brand new polyethylene pipe on the other end. A heavy duty hydraulic machine pulls the bursting head through, breaking up the old sewer line as it clears the way for the new sewer pipe being pulled in behind it. The result is your are left with a brand new high grade sewer line that is also rated to last for 50+ years, and the best part is…your yard, walkways, porches, and driveways remain virtually untouched!

Directional Drilling Technology

For installing new sewer and drain lines, directional drilling is a new trenchless method that does not require excavation. A GPS guided drill head bores a channel for the new sewer gas or electrical line to be run. Then the channel is back drilled with a reamer to match the diameter of the utility to be run. Directional Drilling Rigs can run new lines under roads, buildings, rivers, streams, vitually anywhere that excavation would be difficult or even impossible. This method can save a lot in construction costs as their is no need to close off roadways, or shut down businesses as would be require with traditional excavation.
